#HRVA2020 Annual Conference Cancelled

From the HR Virginia website:

We regret to inform you that due to the growing threat of exposure to coronavirus COVID-19 and out of an abundance of caution we have cancelled HR Virginia’s 2020 Annual Conference (#HRVA2020) at the Omni Homestead in Hot Springs, VA.

As we shared on the conference website, we have closely monitored news reports and guidance issued by the Centers for Disease Control, as well as information provided by other expert sources. Our first priority, as always, is the safety and well-being of our attendees, speakers, corporate partners and volunteers. However, the coronavirus shows no signs of slowing in the near future, and an increasing number of institutions have decided to restrict travel. Furthermore, it is critically important for HR professionals, many of whom are on the front lines of organizational planning and response, to be available as developments unfold.

In consideration of these and other factors, we have made the difficult and unprecedented decision to cancel the conference.

We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience and understanding. There may be questions for which we do not yet have answers so we ask for your patience as we work through the many details. THE OMNI HOMESTEAD IS AUTOMATICALLY CANCELLING AND REFUNDING RESERVATION DEPOSITS, SO YOU DO NOT NEED TO CONTACT THEM. Please view the FAQ page on the conference website for additional information.

Thanks to everyone for their support and trust in HR Virginia. We have been receiving new registrations as recent as Monday. That made this decision even more difficult to make.

We also want to thank the Conference Planning Committee for their tireless and diligent work. They have worked very hard to put on the very best conference for us all.

Lastly, and most importantly, please be safe and stay healthy. Follow all the CDC guidelines about hygiene, practice social distancing, and check in with neighbors, friends and family who may be in high risk categories.
